Commissary

The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office Detention Division operates a Commissary at MADF that permits incarcerated persons to use personal funds in their accounts to purchase approved items.

Incarcerated individuals may order commissary on the kiosk system in the housing modules and the Tablets. They may purchase up to $100 per week.

Examples of items an incarcerated person can purchase, but are not limited to, are as follows:

Shower Shoes, underwear, sports bras, reading glasses, shave cream, toothpaste, styling gel, mouthwash, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, bar soap, lotion, contact lens solution, contact lens case, envelopes, paper, pencils, colored pencils, word search, sudoku, bowl, cup, greeting cards, candy, beverages, chips and snacks.



Care Package examples:

1) Hygiene/Stationary Care Pack — Toothpaste, conditioner, lotion, shampoo, toothbrush, soap, toothbrush cap, Q-tips, Carmex lip balm, Pony O’s, comb, pencil eraser, stamped envelope, full size pencil, full size pen, stamped envelopes (2), lined writing pad.


Incarcerated Persons who are “Indigent” (Cal Pen. Code § 5007.7) shall be provided with basic supplies and resources:

  • Toothbrush

  • Toothpaste

  • Razor (Exceptions)

  • Writing materials

  • Comb

  • Shampoo packet

  • Small deodorant

  • Stamped envelope (2)

  • 3” Golf Pencil
