City Watch

The County of Sonoma Department of Emergency Services (DES, http://www.sonoma-county.org/des) is the owner of the CityWatch (http://www.citywatch.com) system which can be used to notify the public, either locally or county wide in case of an emergency.

The Sheriff’s Office uses the server managed by DES only in times of a major emergency. CityWatch has the ability to target an area and quickly notify a large section of the public in cases of an emergency such as a flood warning or other natural disaster, a homeland security alert, hazardous materials alert, etc.
